History of Chevela and The Spiritual Voices

In the year of 2000, after much soul-searching, the organization took place, and we decided on a name for the group. The Lord gave Chevela the insight into renaming the group “The Spiritual Voices”. Over the decade, this group has had the opportunity to minister for major events in many venues and states such as; New Jersey, Connecticut, North & South Carolina, and Georgia in churches, pavilions, parks, hotels and halls; just to name a few. Not forgetting the prestigious opportunity to do a tour in West Africa (Monrovia, Liberia)!

The Spiritual Voices has its own unique style of singing. God has given Chevela the talent to write and arrange our songs to fit our style and voices. There is a mixture of sounds and music going on; for example, there is some neo-soul, country, jazz, traditional, quartet and even a little calypso. But they are all pulled together in a creative way; though there is versatility in our style it is all to glorify God. People and fellow artists tend to say hmm, I wouldn’t have it heard it quite that way and love it a lot. Wherever we go, no one will let us leave without ‘TAKING A RIDE”, or letting them know that we have “BLESSED ASSURANCE” and now "SATISFIED" has become a major statement. In September 2008, God afforded us the opportunity to release our first full project entitled “Satisfied.” We are looking forward to our second release in 2011 entitled “A New Anointing.” But most importantly, we want God to be pleased with our service and this ministry.
