KINSHIP CIRCLE ANIMAL DISASTER AID NETWORK -- The Kinship Circle network of independently trained responders is activated in disasters to send volunteers, supplies, and resources for animal victims. Kinship Circle may work under agreement to directly deploy volunteers, as done for Iowa's Veterinary Response Team during the 2008 Iowa floods. Or Kinship Circle may manage volunteers for another group on the ground, as done for 2008 Hurricanes Ike and Gustav.
Kinship Circle in Japan joins Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue & Support (Animal Friends Niigata, Japan Cat Network, HEART-Tokushima), and other local NGOs to aid animal survivors. Kinship Circle responders, credentialed in search and rescue, assessment, vet first aid, and crisis sheltering provide ground support. Kinship Circle will also aid groups monetarily through donations to the Kinship Circle Animal Disaster Aid Fund. Learn more by viewing the daily field notes posted on the Kinship Circle website.

FISHER -- Fisher's ethereal vocalic beauty can be heard on various commercials for Napa, Nike, Hyundai, and Hallmark, but the band first struck gold with their song "Breakable," billed on the soundtrack to the 1996 Gwyneth Paltrow flick Great Expectations. The group went on tour with Oasis, Lisa Loeb, and 1998's Lilith Fair, and in the spring of 1999, Fisher independently released their debut album One. They were instantly intrigued with the mass hysteria of music downloading, making sure they were included in the loop. Fisher's music was fully embraced by various Internet sites, and nearly three million hits were tabulated in 1999 alone. And 11 Fisher songs were in the Top 40 at www.mp3.com.
