This is the goods, folks,Solid American stoner rawk, with all the grooves
and all the guitar solos and the ripping vocals you would expect.
Except for the fact that these guys are dutch,But thats cool-after all
didnt the backyard babies show America how to play American rock?
( I know-them are fighting words).
Some of the tracks here are reminiscent of Fu manchu, which is cool
with me because i worship the almighty Fu,But i have to say that
sometimes they re a little too reminiscent. But i love it anyway.
And thats not to say that they cant up with some origenal riffs.
Asphalt blues sounds like it came from the swamps of the south.
Mention must be made of B.Overheid's guitar solos.
The only way i can explain this is to say that it's like slipping into a
pair of comfortable,worn-out jeans.
There is nothing here that you haven't already heard, but they are
played so damn well that hearing them again still carries some of that
feeling of hearing them for the first time.
When the singer lets loose,he sounds a little like phil Anselmo on Down,
without sounding like a copycat.
The whole package sounds like a band that deserves an audience,
and i hope the get one, especially here in the states.
Take note - There is a lengthy period of silence after the seventh track,
but there is still another song coming;sadly, not really worth listening to.
I hate it when bands do this, but thats a pretty minor gripe.
