History of Fred Vey
Fred is a retired schoolteacher, having taught in a number of communities throughout Newfoundland. He has always had an interest in music and made it an integral part of his teaching. An accomplished musician, he plays a number of instruments including guitar, bass, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, dobra, and borhan . He has performed across the province and has released several cds of his own original material.. Having a special interest in NFLD. culture, much of his original material reflects that theme and he has written hundreds of songs. Currently working as an audio consultant and session musician for The MusicBox, he is credited on many cds. recorded by other artists.

Traditional Irish music, combined with the classic country sounds of George Jones, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and others were influential.
