I have been playing the guitar for some 30 years .im 45 years old and enjoy my music as much now as when i first started.At 15 i was playing in a punk band called Catch 22 with a few school friends.That split after a couple of years and i just played for fun most the time untill i met a man called Kevin Smith and we formed a band called the Fling which managed to get on the pub gigs.Now i play rock music in a band called The Lost Patrol which i enjoy very much.

History of mark thompson

I have a history of loving guitar since school which i left in 1983.In and out of bands all the time but now i seem to have settled into The Lost Patrol where i have licence to do what i want to a limit.Now i have been doing some teaching as well and i enjoy it very much,just on my grade 8 guitar at the moment which im sure i will have no probs passing soon.When i get the chance i love to have a jam with all kinds of different muso,s and i dont care much what kind of music we play i like to try and be flexable.

Main Influences on mark thompson

From a young age being first inspired in the punk era by The Sex Pistols and Stiff Little Fingers.I soon realised that this was limiting my playing and got into AC/DC,Stevie Ray V,Satch and oh so many others its all worth listening to,as so to widen my brain a bit.
