My Diffidence is the culmination of over a years worth of writing, recording and producing which has eventually been gathered into a twelve track album of predominantly new material as well as some more well known tracks. Recorded on a shoestring budget in a home studio, this album is a collection of raw and unpolished songs ranging from tales of lovers lost at sea to the futility of work. Haunting odes such as 'Laughing' lament the passing of a past life and the uncertainty of the future while The Letter, parts 1&2 document the difficulties of an estranged father trying to contact his long lost daughter. Recorded using just a microphone, laptop and forever battling the ever present risk of disturbance from his cat 'Al', this album brings closure on Michael's past four years as a solo artist.
