History of The Majority
The Majority are formed from a previous band called The Factory. The band's name is taken from a brilliant song by The Alarm called "Majority". The first gig was at Knowl Hill. There is a tape of this event floating around somewhere.. The band took Maidenhead Live Aid by storm! The legendary Turkey Tours are still talked about. "I'm In The Mood" the debut album achieved world wide sales..
Main Influences on The Majority
The Alarm have and continue to be a huge influence on the music we write. U2's early material was a source of inspiration. The Jam when Paul Weller was at his best. The Faith Brothers were brilliant and should have received so much more recognition and Billy Franks is probably the best songwriter I have heard. Velvet Crush, The Long Ryders, The Skids, U2, The Police, The Vapours, Green Day, The Power Of Dreams, Dodgy, Stiff Little Fingers, The Levellers. Last but not least The Nolans with their divine inspiration.
