Paul Kearns

We are but a small studio and label, based on the North Devon Coast in the UK.
The studio is small (about 200 sq ft), but is stocked with all sorts of goodies and is full air conditioned (more against the cold than the heat).
The entire studio is fully soundproofed and is acoustically "dead".
We are nothing "fancy" and would rather promote "unknowns" and give them the chance to record something half decent that may help their career.
I (Paul - the chap that built and own it), also record my own music (which was why I built it in the first place)- so the whole place can be run by a single person if the know what they are doing.
We are particularly interested in promoting Internet collaborations and producing the "finished product" - and some of the tracks on this site have been done this way.
Always interested in new ideas.

History of Paul Kearns

I have played keyboards in various bands for more years than many of the people reading this.
I have backed a number of "names" in the business in my time but, now, due to breaking my back, I can no longer play live (it's too much of a problem getting everything I need to move around to a gig) - so now, it's just the studio.
I have spent most of my working life in the IT industry (since 1984 actually) and simply cannot believe that technology has brought my two greatest "loves" together - music and IT - just when I needed it.
We have released a number of songs via ITunes and Napster and sold a few thousand copies each time but, mainly, I do it for the love of it. Making a bit of money along the way is great but, with the ever shrinking lack of live venues (in the UK anyway since the smoking ban), it's a matter of making sure that new, young and creative music still has the chance to flourish that drives me on.
